the chords are cool, but the mixing and sound design is just... below average, ig theres something other people find here that i dont. if it didnt radiate of bad mixing so much i would really like it i think

EDIT: well, i tried to be nice but alright, I'll be real, the whole song is shitty, on top of the abysmal mixing, you seemed nice from what I knew, shame you're just another lucky ungrateful child on Newgrounds with no real ability to take feedback. I would offer help to you, but if this is how you react to a light, rather complimentary piece of feedback, then god help you.

the statement *You don't give people constructive criticism with vague passive-aggressive condescending comments like "maybe if this wasn't terrible I'd enjoy it"*, well, its not that I don't give proper feedback, its just that I have things to do and just scrolling NG will often make me wanna say something, so i just put a small comment. I never said "maybe if this wasn't terrible I'd enjoy it", I said that the mixing was off and that I'd like it otherwise, I think you may be s l i g h t l y over exaggerating.

well, okay if I knew you were one of these people, I never would have reviewed in the first place, I didn't try to offend you or anything. as for "Maybe consider that there's no definitive mix out there" that's something I can't agree, while yes, there's different sort of mixes a "bad" one is still "bad" for many reasons. There are lots of things to consider as to what makes one good or bad, and I agree that you can have a weird approach to mixing and the song sounds good. I can tell that mixing isn't your priority, everything else in the song is solid, (disclaimer: this isn't an ""insult"") and yea I do agree that the general "story" that is told by the music is hella important. "I don't require ANY feedback" is a bit of a weird approach for me, but I understand your reasoning, I didn't know this beforehand, so your mindset won't make a difference to me if I have never heard of you before. I'm sorry you got so hurt lol, I never expected that

If you don't like the song, that's fine. But honestly I could care less about your terrible feedback, and I'd rather not hear from you ever again. I can take legit constructive feedback. What I can't take is dealing with people like you who think you're doing me a service by telling me how to improve my song with insults. Maybe consider that there's no definitive mix out there, maybe consider that it's the over-all mood of the song, the musicality, the vibes. Not the fucking recording quality or the mix. Recording and mixing quality are something to consider, but to me they're not the most important elements. Telling a story is. Getting a mood across is. Conveying emotions without words is. I make these recordings as a form of expression, and I don't require ANY feedback.

There's a healthy way to give criticism. Yours was not the healthy way, thus you get a response that is equal to yours.

I see you give out a lot of feedback but maybe it wouldn't hurt you take take some of your own advice. I see you comment on the mixing quality frequently on even the most polished and perfectly mixed songs, so idk if this here is your idea of a "good mix". for the most part is just a commotion of presets, too much sub and a plethora of FL stock samples and the occasional surely copyright protected vocal. there's not particularly anything special here. your constant tie to Geometry Dash will also probably prevent you from ever getting much feedback from people who actually know what they're talking about, Id recommend a much more professional approach outside of some ruined platformer with a cult following

Haha, geometry dash cult. You have a point there, there are a lot of 9 year old gd players on this site and a lot of them have become producers because of it. I guess I do encourage people to use my songs in their levels, playing a level with my song in it is always fun, but I just say that because like producing, geometry dash is one of my hobbies. And that’s slightly hypocritical coming from someone who literally put gd after their name and made empty levels in the game showcasing their songs. No hard feelings, just clearing things up, keanyGD. You have remixed songs purely for use in gd, like crystal corruption (where you changed the pitch) and other shriller songs. You’ve taken them down tho, probably in shame.

And yeah, I do give out a lot of critical feedback, but it’s meant to help people, and I’m a beginner at composing so I’m not very professional yet. I also try my best to make my songs but I only have a synth, I don’t have any professional software yet.

So about the mixing feedback, that’s usually just my opinion on what I think would make a song sound better, and in some of my reviews a point out that I try not to be too critical for my production skill level, but I can’t say that for every review I give. Again, they are just my opinion and are purely constructive, And im new to composing, mixing and reviewing.

About the sample, it’s less than a second long, and that was my first attempt of incorporating samples info a song, like a test. I’m won’t monetise it even if I could, so I doubt a famous company is gonna harass a kid with 20 followers who makes music for fun.

And yes, this song is very cluttered and messy as I have a habit of opening too many tracks at once, but I strive to improve with each song I make, but thanks for your feedback, and any further advice will be appreciated.

And for your information I have never used a loop or stock sample and I do not intend to. And which review was it that was being too critical on a perfect mix? I’ll check over it. In my opinion any form of feedback is better than commenting “bruh” on songs.
